Generous local residents have donated over £1000 to Magpas at Huntingdon Garden & Leisure in under a week as part of a special charity fundraising day.

Since ‘adopting’ Magpas as their local charity of the Year 2010 and 2011, generous customers and staff at Huntingdon Garden & Leisure have already donated nearly £7000. This latest amount is a testament to just how much local people appreciate this wonderful charity which works tirelessly to save lives across the region.

Janet Bassett, Display Supervisor at Huntingdon, said: “It was a great family day with face painters, a caricaturist and storytelling, which were all free of charge with donations to Magpas. Our raffle raised £310 and there was a generous donation of £100 from Westfield Health. The rest was made up of collections by the volunteer bucket shakers – including me!

“All the staff here are really pleased to support such a worthwhile cause.”

Sadly, the future of Magpas remains uncertain as they rely totally on donations from the public. So please help them by continuing to donate the next time you visit Huntingdon Garden Centre.
