A Plymouth garden centre has recently picked up no less than 4 prestigious awards in a regional audit.
Endsleigh Garden & Leisure, Ivybridge, scooped the awards in the Garden Centre Association's (GCA) annual audit for the Wales & West Area. In the Destination category (sales over £4m) Endsleigh were awarded Best Garden Centre, Best Restaurant, Best Gardening Retailer and Most Improved Garden Centre.
The awards are decided by the results of annual inspections, which take place at all GCA garden centres. Garden centres have no advance warning about when their inspection will take place and they do not have the option to turn away the inspector.
Valerie Kempster, Store Manager at Endsleigh said: "I am so proud of the whole team, and these awards are testament to the consistently high standards and effort that every member of staff makes."
Peter Burks, Chairman of the GCA, said: “We would like to congratulate Endsleigh for their awards. It is a reflection of all their hard work and dedication to excellence, and they should all be proud of their achievements.”
In addition to the four Best Area Awards, the garden centre achieved another 13 Awards of Merit in categories such as; Aquatics & Petcare, Facilities for the Disabled and Garden Centre Staff.
Endsleigh and other area winners will go forward to the national awards, which will be announced at the GCA annual conference in January 2013.
